Job Summary

The YMCA of the Inland Northwest is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swim lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels, while promoting a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver swim lessons to participants, using a variety of teaching methods and techniques to meet the needs of each individual.
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
  • Evaluate participant progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their swimming skills.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and other staff members.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and techniques.
Requirements
  • At least 15 years of age
  • YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
