Job Description

This Full-Time Maintenance Tech/Janitor position will be assigned to one of our Senior Apartment communities located in Elgin, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the property, including routine repairs, grounds maintenance, and providing exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all tasks and reporting work accomplished to the Property Manager daily.
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
  • Ensuring all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
  • Conducting daily rounds to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment, structure integrity of buildings, and condition of grounds.
  • Performing work according to standard procedure and by building operational schedule.
  • Cleaning community rooms, hallways, restrooms, laundry room, stairways, and windows using general cleaning equipment to maintain overall building cleanliness.
  • Clearing snow from entrances & walkways when applicable.
  • Grounds maintenance (cut grass, trim bushes, waters landscaping, removes trash) when applicable.
  • Following all applicable safety rules & procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, maintenance preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills supported with daily communication with the Property Manager.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to research and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Ability to restock and order items to complete the tasks of the building.
  • Valid Driver License.

Salary: $38,400 - $40,000 per year (based on 20 hours/week and $19.00-$20.00 per hour), estimated salary range based on location and industry standards.
