Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Planning: Develop wholesome, home-style meal plans that align with the academy's menu, budgetary constraints, and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children and staff, ensuring distribution follows health and safety protocols.
  • Menu Compliance: Adhere to the daily menu established by the Director, incorporating USDA guidelines and health department regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor food and supply inventory, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
  • Classroom Support: Assist in classrooms as required, taking on the role of Assistant Teacher or Floater.
  • Compassionate Care: Exhibit care and compassion in all interactions, demonstrating a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Relevant Experience: Possess experience in culinary arts or food preparation for groups, ideally within a childcare setting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understand current state and local food service regulations.
