Oaks Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Certified Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medication Aide will provide hands-on supervision of caregiver staff, ensure quality resident care, and uphold the residence philosophy and resident well-being. This includes administering scheduled medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Oaks Senior Living policy.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise caregiver staff on duty in providing quality care and meeting the needs of residents.
  • Adhere to each resident's Negotiated Service Plan and notify the Wellness Director, MOD, and/or the Executive Director of any changes in resident condition.
  • Answer and respond immediately to resident calls.
  • Assist with serving meals and supervise caregiver staff in the dining room.
  • Control the spread of infection by following standard precautions.
  • Establish and maintain a good relationship with residents and their families.
  • Respond to resident emergencies following the proper procedures.
  • Lead by example, encourage teamwork, and promote the Oaks Senior Living philosophy.
  • Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with residents in a Senior Living environment.
  • Supervisory experience in a healthcare or service industry preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Friendly, caring disposition. Desire to work with older adults.
  • Experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia older adults.
  • Must be 21 years of age. Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Must have physical exam by a licensed physician. Must have a negative drug screen.
  • Must be able to react in an emergency situation.
Working Conditions:

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time. Employees must adhere to proper body mechanics and safety measures when supporting or transferring residents.

In a typical eight-hour day, employee will:

  • Stand/walk up to eight hours a day.
  • Sit up to two hours a day.
  • Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
