Job Summary

Arnot Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our inpatient rehabilitation program. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with patients and their families to provide individualized treatment plans, conduct group and individual counseling sessions, and facilitate discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients, incorporating their unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct regular counseling sessions with patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Participate in crisis management and intervention, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as addiction counseling or a related mental health field.
  • Current CASAC-T or CASAC certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • One to two years of experience in the treatment of alcoholic or chemically dependent patients, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
