Meat Department Associate

About the Role:

As a Meat Clerk at Shaw's, you will be responsible for maintaining the meat department's inventory and display cases. This includes:

  • Removing fresh, frozen, smoked, and prepackaged meats from storage coolers and freezers and displaying them in the meat department display cases.
  • Replenishing the full-service meat case as needed.
  • Traying up processed cuts and/or ground meat to be wrapped, weighed, and priced by hand or using an automatic machine.
  • Scanning expired products for distress and discarding them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management and control.
  • Meat display and merchandising.
  • Customer service and sales.
  • Team collaboration and communication.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
