We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Asheville, USA. As a key member of our Laboratory Products Division, you will play a critical role in the production of essential laboratory equipment and medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of product assembly operations, including drilling, riveting, and soldering, to meet specified quality standards.
- Read and follow standard operating procedures and electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly.
- Inspect parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure the unit meets specified quality standards.
- Use a variety of hand tools, including drills, rivet guns, and drill presses, to complete tasks efficiently.
- Enter product-related data into the SAP system and track component serial numbers, production rates, and physical location.
- Order and retrieve supplies and materials as needed, using paper and SAP documents.
- Troubleshoot work-related problems and take appropriate steps for assistance.
- Test assembled units, clean, and pack final products.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of proven experience in manufacturing, construction maintenance, or an industrial setting.
- Previous experience with multiple component manufacturing production.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement a plus.
