We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at the Michigan Institute of Urology. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our urology team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare procedure rooms for local procedures by setting up instrumentation, checking case supplies, and opening sterile instruments/supplies in an aseptic technique.
- Assist physicians during local procedures, utilizing aseptic technique and demonstrating knowledge of universal precautions, PPE, and aseptic technique.
- Accurately document patient information, vital signs, and procedure details on procedure-specific memos and electronic health records.
- Administer injections/instillations on the order of the physician, mix medications, and perform other clinical tasks as needed.
- Participate in the decontamination and processing of procedure instrumentation, including autoclave operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the urology team to ensure seamless patient care and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- High School graduate or GED; Medical Assistant certificate required.
- 1 year of medical assistant office experience demonstrating competency is preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Demonstrates organization, self-motivation, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
This position requires prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move patients. The work environment is fast-paced, with a high volume of patients and procedures. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations is essential.
