About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at GXO. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse operations, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and direction to supervisors and team members, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers to ensure that their needs are met and that they receive the highest level of service.
  • Quality and Safety: Demonstrate an understanding of GXO's quality policies and procedures, and ensure that they are implemented and maintained throughout the warehouse.
  • Staff Development: Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Operations Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving operations and make recommendations to management.
  • Maintenance and Equipment: Handle equipment and coordinate maintenance needs with the maintenance team.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Ensure that records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring that the warehouse is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other pertinent standards/regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4 years of relevant work experience, including experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field.
  • Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment, as well as strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills.
  • Availability: Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.
