This full-time position requires availability every Wednesday through Saturday from 3 PM to 11 PM. The selected candidate must be able to fulfill all four shifts weekly.

Compensation is set at $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary:
Responsible for monitoring and reporting activities and incidents at the designated site, ensuring the security and safety of property, personnel, and sensitive information. Conducts regular inspections to identify irregularities, assess the functionality of security systems, and detect unauthorized individuals. Maintains order and enforces site regulations regarding personnel, visitors, and premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct foot patrols of the assigned area, checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations.
  • Document all activities and prepare reports as necessary, ensuring accurate and clear communication.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, guests, and visitors.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, preventing unauthorized access and directing individuals as needed.
  • Report incidents, suspicious activities, or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to security alarms and emergencies as required.
  • Communicate effectively and transparently in all interactions.
  • Protect evidence and secure the scene in case of incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with property removal policies and client standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned related to site security.
  • Adhere to the GSE Security Officer Standards of Conduct and the DCJS Code of Ethics.
  • Complete necessary training to maintain registration and access to client systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong ethical standards and legal compliance.
  • Attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment and security tools.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to patrol on foot, observe surroundings, communicate effectively, and respond to emergencies. This position involves physical activity, though some sedentary tasks may be included.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required; related experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior military, law enforcement, or private security experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active registration with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, including passing a background check and drug test.
