Registered Nurse Fellowship - Recovery Room PACU/PreSurgery

Position Overview:
This fellowship program is tailored for seasoned nursing professionals eager to transition into a new clinical specialty within the recovery room and pre-surgery settings.

Key Details:
  • Sign-on bonus: $5,000. Relocation assistance is available.
  • Department: PreSurgery/Surgery Recovery Room/PACU
  • Schedule: Variable department scheduling from early morning to evening, Monday through Friday, with on-call requirements during weekends and holidays in 12-hour increments. Current needs include 9-hour shifts four times a week.

Responsibilities:
As a participant in this fellowship, you will:
  • Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established protocols and in collaboration with a registered nurse.
  • Support patient care through observation, documentation, and communication of essential information to the healthcare team.
  • Assist in the documentation and execution of physician and nursing directives under the guidance of a registered nurse preceptor.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, effectively communicating changes in patient conditions.
  • Engage in transition-to-practice programs to enhance clinical reasoning and judgment for safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications:
  • BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing is mandatory prior to hire.

Educational Requirements:
  • Diploma from an accredited nursing school or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in procedural areas.
