The Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatry is tasked with delivering comprehensive medical and psychological care to patients, adhering to the guidelines established by supervising physicians and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations, to inform treatment plans.
- Perform initial psychological evaluations, manage admissions and discharges, and provide ongoing patient consultations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and treatment strategies.
- Prescribe medications and carry out clinical assessments, including diagnosis and therapeutic interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions to support patient recovery.
- Document all relevant patient information, treatment plans, and clinical observations in accordance with facility protocols.
- Engage with patients and their families to address educational needs and promote health literacy.
- Participate in the development of Master Treatment Plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Oversee health promotion initiatives and disease prevention strategies, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse within a relevant patient demographic.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in compliance with state regulations, along with any necessary certifications.
