Clinical Nurse

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for ensuring a secure and pleasant experience for patients and their support networks. As a dedicated professional, the Clinical Nurse utilizes autonomy (the right to take specific actions), authority (the power to execute actions), and control (the ability to maintain and enforce actions consistently) to guarantee outstanding patient outcomes. Professional accountability is demonstrated in five key areas: practice, quality assurance, competence, research, and resource management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employs the nursing process to conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of patients.
- Understands the significance of informed consent.
- Adheres to established policies and standards for assessing, monitoring, and recovering patients undergoing conscious sedation.
- Follows guidelines to evaluate and support patients during Phase II recovery.
- Assesses patients' educational needs regarding procedures and provides instruction throughout their stay and at discharge.
- Accurately records information in the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Utilizes appropriate tools for accurate patient billing.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
- Fundamental understanding of nursing theory and practice. Demonstrates proficient clinical skills; knowledge of objectives and standards of practice, and effective communication abilities. A minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical experience is preferred.
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program, currently licensed in the State of New York.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with relevant technology and practice standards for the designated area of responsibility.
- New York State Registered Nurse license is mandatory.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
