Clinical Support Nurse

Job Summary:

The Clinical Support Nurse assumes a leadership role by providing on-site expert consultation to Patient Care Services Staff in clinical patient care situations. This role requires a graduate of a professional academic nursing program with current RN Registration or a Limited Permit to practice in the State of New York. A minimum of three years recent acute care clinical experience in specific patient populations is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care in selected complex patient care situations.
  • Teach and support staff to initiate access and manage intravascular therapy.
  • Negotiate effectively to reach consensual decisions with staff and managers.
  • Assist staff develop clinical skills and problem solve in complex patient care situations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program.
  • Holds current RN Registration or a Limited Permit to practice in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of three years recent acute care clinical experience in specific patient populations.
