Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on water and wastewater treatment plants, distribution and collection systems, and associated equipment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, tractors, backhoes, and valve operators.
- Inspect and repair water mains, sewer mains, pump stations, valves, storage tanks, vaults, and meters.
- Perform smoke testing, flow analysis, main cleaning, and other routine maintenance and evaluation procedures.
- Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) and other maintenance management software to track work performance and store data.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and operations.
- Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong public relations skills and ability to effectively interact with coworkers, contractors, and the general public.
- Valid driver's license required; Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required.
This position involves moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending. Prolonged exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions is possible. Daily involvement in hazardous work may exist. Must have and maintain physical ability and personal mobility to perform duties as assigned.
