Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ascension Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. As a key member of our Respiratory Care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assess patient needs and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner certification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within 4 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist certification in Critical Care from the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist certification in Neonatal Resuscitation from the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Respiratory Therapist certification in Registered from the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Adult Critical Care Specialist certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
Education

A high school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, an Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience is required.
