We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Phoenix Senior Living.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and service, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive estimated salary range of $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience.
About the RoleThe Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring that all food meets and exceeds quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements.
This includes managing food production, maintaining sanitary conditions, adhering to production sheets and instructions, and monitoring food items for temperature, taste, and quality.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for record-keeping, including manually recording equipment temperatures, refrigerator temperatures, freezer temperatures, cooking temperatures of food, holding temperatures of food, cooling temperatures of food, food production quantities, and taste evaluation sheets.
In addition, the Cook will be responsible for rotating menus and production sheets, and maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A High School Diploma or GED required
- Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
- One (1) year job-related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets
- Maintains a current SERV Safe certificate or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become SERV Safe Certified
