About the Job

As a dedicated and passionate School Social Worker, you will provide on-site support for Early Childhood students in Canton, CT.

This is a contract position for the 2024-2025 school year, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact on the social, emotional, and behavioral development of young children.

Responsibilities
  • Provide social-emotional support and counseling for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students as necessary.
  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and lead social skills groups, providing behavioral support as needed.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional difficulties.
  • Work closely with parents to provide resources, strategies, and support for students overall well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and student progress.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Connecticut State Licensure (LCSW or LMSW).
  • Experience working with early childhood populations (Pre-K to Grade 3).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for supporting young students' social-emotional growth.
