The Birmingham Jefferson Co is seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repairs services to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct repairs on a variety of systems, including lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and other general electrical functions.
- Troubleshoot facility asset failures and propose possible corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and repair kitchen equipment, including ice machines, coolers, and freezers, as well as cooking equipment.
- Assist with facility inspections and make recommendations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned to support the facilities department.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Facility Maintenance Repair Technician or a similar position.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Trade or technical school training in a related discipline is preferred.
- HVAC or similar certifications are preferred.
- Valid State of Alabama Driver License.
- Accountability for maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
