Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations, maintaining a high standard of medical ethics, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound procedures through proper technique selection according to department policy and procedure.
  • Provide Ultrasound services on weekends, holidays, and call as scheduled.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient needs.
  • Follow established departmental procedures and use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed.
  • Integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to adapt sonographic examinations as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Vascular Sonography.
  • Certified by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Physics (SPI) or Vascular Technology (RVT) within twelve (12) months of placement in position.
  • Additional ARDMS specialty registries are encouraged.
  • In compliance with ARDMS and/or ARRT continuing education requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Abdomen registry.
  • 2 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
