About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Physical Therapist at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your skills in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.
  • Assess and re-assess patient pain and develop appropriate treatment plans to assist patients in achieving maximum functional outcomes.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the formation of plan of care and formulating teaching plans based on identified learning, cultural, and psychosocial needs.
  • Set realistic short and long-term goals and plans of care related to patients' physical therapy needs within the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems.
  • Supervise and educate students, evaluating their performance and preparing the department for JCAHO surveys and participating in CQI activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy.
  • Physical Therapy (PT) License.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience with one year in an acute care setting.
  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Membership or specialty equivalent.
