About the Role:

The Backwaiter plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience for our guests. This position requires a commitment to delivering service that is knowledgeable, friendly, energetic, and considerate, all while adhering to the high standards and values of Momofuku in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the service team with continuous table and floor upkeep, including water service, clearing and sanitizing tables, and resetting tables with appropriate tableware.
  • Effectively communicate with the appropriate server or management to address any guest requests or concerns.
  • Participate in the cleaning and polishing of all tableware.
  • Support team members in fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
  • Demonstrate basic menu knowledge and assist in delivering food to tables as necessary.
  • Manage the stocking, organization, and preparation of service-related items.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the restaurant's history and offerings.
  • Engage respectfully with colleagues at all levels.
  • Comply with grooming and dress code standards.

Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Open to constructive feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Ability to think quickly and adapt in a constantly evolving environment.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves various physical activities, including seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during their shifts.
