Job Summary

Atrium Health - 1000 Blythe Blvd. is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in the Interventional Radiology Suite. As a key member of our team, you will assist in various invasive angio and interventional procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in invasive angio and interventional procedures, maintaining a safe and organized environment for patients and staff.
  • Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties, ensuring total patient care during and after procedures.
  • Monitor patients in the Interventional Radiology area, providing vital support to our medical team.
  • Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and prepping them for the procedure.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Circulate during procedures, maintaining responsibility for patient comfort and providing necessary supplies.
  • Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
  • Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
  • Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately.
  • Enter patient data and inventory into the WITT program and send films for review.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk while wearing 10 to 15 pound lead radiation protection aprons, with exposure to radiation, secretions, and blood.
  • Normal vision, manual dexterity, and good eye and hand coordination necessary to operate equipment.
  • Constant concentration required during procedures.
