RSI Logistics, Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Houston, TX location as a Hub Operations Manager. This role oversees the Operations Hub that supports Gulf Coast Site Coordination activities, ensuring seamless logistics operations and fostering proactive relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rail industry regulations and safety standards, with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of rail operations
  • Oversee the planning and execution of inbound and outbound railcar needs across multiple sites
  • Manage coordination activities to meet loading and unloading requirements
  • Ensure alignment of rail operations with the overall supply chain strategy of the organization
  • Proactively focus on Continuous Improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements
  • Lead and participate in governance meetings to review performance, strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide leadership during critical rail-related unplanned events, ensuring timely communication and effective mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate with local and regional railroad operations personnel during unplanned events to ensure minimal disruption to operations
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of rail operations
  • Ensure adherence to SLA standards and reporting for KPIs, SLAs, and Stewardship initiatives
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of rail operations and any critical issues
  • Conduct Root Cause Investigations and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues
  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of Site Rail Coordinators and Supervisors
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, and operational excellence within the team
  • Develop and implement annual Hub Operations budget

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in leadership role in rail operations or logistics management (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety standards
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
