We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at thatgamecompany. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and deploying complex machine learning models to enhance our player experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machine learning algorithms to improve player interaction and engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our game development pipeline
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable machine learning models in production environments
  • Work closely with data scientists to identify and address data quality and integrity issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and statistical methods

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning and statistical methods, including classical ML, deep learning, NLP, and anomaly detection
  • Experience building and deploying complex machine learning models in production environments
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with big data processing tools and formats, such as BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Spark/Beam, Parquet, and Iceberg
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with graph databases or matchmaking
  • Experience with collaborative filtering or user vectorization
  • Experience with TypeScript and Protocol Buffers
  • Experience with source control, CICD, or infrastructure as code
  • Experience in the video gaming industry
