Aircraft Maintenance Estimator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Estimator to join our team at Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services. As an Aircraft Maintenance Estimator, you will be responsible for developing task standard estimates that encompass labor, material, elapsed time, and tooling requirements for routine and non-routine task completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop task standard estimates for routine and non-routine tasks
  • Create customer work package quotations by providing accurate man-hour and materials estimates
  • Review and research task completion history and relevant maintenance records/data to validate and adjust standards
  • Provide training and guidance to support staff as needed

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of combined experience working as an A & P technician on transport category aircraft and experience in an Analyst, Planner, Controller, Specialist, or Coordinator role
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven planning and organizational skills to process, coordinate, prioritize, and track workload requirements
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements for aircraft systems, engines, and components
  • Previous estimating and quotation experience at a FAR Part 145 repair station
  • Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, including mechanical, structural, and avionics systems
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, database software, email, and other web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to a Part 145 repair station

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the planning or production control disciplines with demonstrated knowledge in man-hour and material estimating and work package quotation
  • Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application, such as Six Sigma and Lean Principles
