As a Mental Health Associate at Sentara, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care activities for mental health patients. This includes technical duties in support of nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will lead and co-facilitate educational and activity groups, and assist with milieu management to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care activities for mental health patients

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or Sociology (or 4 years' experience in a behavioral health setting)
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of prior behavioral health work experience
