Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in litigation and manage cases involving FMLA, ADA, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and wage and hour law violations. Experience in taking depositions, arguing motions, handling arbitrations, and preparing cases for trial is essential.
  • Draft initial litigation documents, including administrative discrimination charges, court filings, and correspondence that effectively present relevant facts persuasively.
  • Attend depositions and draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery issues, dispositive motions, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct thorough legal research.
  • Communicate with external parties such as attorneys, employers, law enforcement, and administrative agencies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, providing updates on case developments as necessary.
  • Oversee all aspects of cases, ensuring deadlines are met while staying organized and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Licensing: JD Required
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, with substantial experience in litigating and managing complex cases. Prior experience in wrongful termination and discrimination is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of Employment Law.
  • Litigation Skills: Proficiency in all stages of the litigation process, from pre-litigation investigation through mediation, trial, and appeals, is essential. This includes drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, conducting depositions, and arguing in court as needed.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial for effectively representing clients, negotiating settlements, and presenting complex legal arguments.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California.
