Claremont Unified School District is seeking a qualified Adult School ESL Teacher to join our team. As a part-time hourly position, this role will involve teaching English as a second language to adults in a classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver a learning program that enables students to make academic, vocational, and personal growth.
- Teach English as a second language to adults in a classroom setting, using a range of course books, materials, and audio-visual aids.
- Emphasize dialogue and role-playing, as well as more formal exercises, language games, and literature.
- California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential required, authorizing service in English as a Second Language.
- CBEST transcript, if newly hired in the state of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school.
This is a part-time hourly position, with the following schedule:
- Monday - Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (12 hours/week)
The salary for this position is as follows:
- Step I: $43.11/hour (per CUSD district policy)
- Step II: $46.00/hour after one year employment with Claremont Adult School
