Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Midland, TX. As an Electrical Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging assignments in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for oil and gas facilities, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, communication systems, and equipment selection.
  • Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings.
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats.
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 2+ years of experience in Oil and Gas or industrial plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities.
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Experience with electrical system design, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing other engineers' design calculations and drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction and start-up experience a plus.
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
