As a Woodworker and Fixture Craftsman, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the hotel's facilities, ensuring they remain attractive and well-maintained.
About the RoleThis is a full-time opportunity that involves constructing, maintaining, and dismantling various structures, furniture, woodwork, and other related items throughout the facility. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and repairing doors, furniture, hardware, windows, hang artwork and headboards, etc. Climbing ladders, stooping, pushing or pulling heavy furniture, and grasping hand tools are all essential tasks.
- Performing shop work to repair or build furniture, identifying types and grades of wood, measuring, and being familiar with hardware materials available to the carpentry trade.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Good product knowledge of lumber (i.e., grade and types), hardware, and other related supplies.
- Knowledge of local building codes.
- Skill in using power and hand tools, such as planners, table saws, drill presses, chisels, rasps, etc.
- Basic English language communication skills to read blueprints and mechanical drawings, communicate with coworkers, and comprehend job assignments.
- Basic trade mathematical skills to calculate quantities of materials.
- Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 80 lbs. occasionally above head.
- Ability to reach above head and support items such as wood, ceiling tiles, etc.
- Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 500 lbs. with or without wheeled assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders, occasionally working at heights above 30 feet.
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including:
