Job Overview

Van-Am Tool & Engineering is in search of meticulous individuals for the role of Quality Assurance Inspector.

The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Inspector involves conducting tests and performing visual inspections on products throughout various phases of the production process. This ensures adherence to engineering specifications, quality standards, and other manufacturing criteria.

Available Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday (4 days)
  • Day Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday (4 days)

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Quality Assurance Inspector position, candidates should possess a minimum of one year of relevant education or equivalent professional experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Proficiency in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges is highly regarded. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial, along with the capability to perform calculations and interpret both 2D and 3D engineering drawings. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards is advantageous, and candidates should hold a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree in a related discipline being beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Selecting products for inspection and testing.
  • Documenting inspection and testing results.
  • Ensuring product compliance with customer specifications.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Quality for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant materials.
  • Supporting manufacturing operations through random inspections.
  • Adhering to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.

This role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision capabilities such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color differentiation are necessary.
