Job Title: Veterinary Technician Caregiver

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician Caregiver to join our Avian and Exotics Medicine and Surgery department at Allegheny Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, hourly position working 4 ten-hour shifts per week. You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Our team is committed to education and professional development, and we offer opportunities for credentialing and continuing education.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to veterinarians and other staff members
  • Assist with medical procedures, including sedated procedures and surgeries
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a productive, positive, and respectful environment
Requirements:
  • Credentialed veterinary technician or eligible for licensure
  • Previous experience working in veterinary medicine, preferably with exotic species
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
