Pharmacist - Bellevue Women's Center

The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and proper interpretation of medication orders, executing all phases of inpatient, outpatient, and employee medication distribution, maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of drugs and drug therapy, providing training and supervision for non-professional Pharmacy staff, and providing drug information and training for various hospital personnel, patients, and the community.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations, policies, and procedures of Ellis Medicine and standards of affiliated accrediting organizations.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills necessary to perform competently, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assure that company resources are utilized responsibly and that the working environment is clean, safe, and in compliance with required workplace standards.
- Communicate relevant departmental information to the nursing and medical staff as needed.
- Seek opportunities in collaboration with management to streamline processes, implement process improvement activities, and resolve conflicts.
- Schedule and manage personal time effectively, including covering shifts as required to meet staffing standards.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Licensure to practice in New York State or eligibility to become licensed.
Personal Time Expectations:
- Ellis Medicine operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the work week may consist of a mixture of days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet staffing standards.
- Pharmacists are responsible for covering shifts as required, with every effort made to distribute assignments fairly and equitably based on seniority.
- Paid Personal Time (PPT) and Extended Sick Time (EST) accrue commensurate with years of service and eligibility as per Organizational Policy.
