As a Lead Software Integration Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating product requests and leading discussions related to software integration for space systems.
  • Overseeing formal software release processes, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Supporting the software change control panel, coordinating agendas, deliverables, and technical meetings to ensure effective management of software changes.
  • Developing and coordinating software build plans and acceptance criteria, providing technical recommendations for software product evaluations.
  • Tracking and presenting change requests and defect reports, proactively identifying risks and issues during integration phases.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of testing results and software products to ensure high standards of correctness and reliability.
  • Leading audits of software development processes to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with software development and deployment.
  • Reviewing software designs and documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of software engineering principles, particularly in safety-critical environments.
  • Effectively documenting and presenting technical information using collaborative tools.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field, along with 15 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software engineering methodologies, experience in developing space systems requirements, and familiarity with software testing and verification processes.
  • Professional Skills: Proven leadership abilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and experience working collaboratively within integrated product teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safety-critical software development processes and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with NASA's software and systems development standards.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Python.

Note: Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required for this position, along with the ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
