Position Overview:

The Senior Security Solutions Architect is tasked with the design, execution, and upkeep of our security framework. This role involves developing, assessing, and steering information security strategies across various business sectors, working in partnership with stakeholders and teams throughout the organization. The individual will be responsible for integrating information security measures into business and technological workflows, supervising threat modeling initiatives, identifying and mitigating risks associated with both externally sourced and internally developed applications, and collaborating with development teams to enforce secure software development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, investigate, and formulate a holistic security architecture for enterprise Technology Services systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
  • Establish security requirements (both functional and non-functional) that correspond with business goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to select, assess, design, and document enterprise security solutions.
  • Facilitate the creation of security standards, reference architectures, patterns, and guidelines to maintain a consistent security posture.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of security measures (data protection, identity and access management (IAM), detective controls, infrastructure/network security, incident response) and drive the implementation of necessary controls, processes, and remediation for non-compliance.
  • Investigate and promote new technologies, architectures, and security products to advance the organization's security maturity roadmap.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in security design, configurations, baselines, and technical standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging security practices and standards.
  • Respond to and analyze security incidents, providing comprehensive post-event evaluations.
  • Validate security systems through the development and execution of test scripts.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, monitoring, and implement necessary improvements to uphold a robust security posture.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define security requirements, effectively communicate findings, and evaluate security risks.
  • Enhance the Security team's ability to deliver solutions and address technical inquiries.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology services, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in designing and constructing enterprise-level security architecture and engineering environments.
  • Proficiency in cloud security architectures (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with advanced security controls and technologies (e.g., SIEM, CASB, Data Loss Prevention (DLP)).
  • Expertise in integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with secure architecture principles, secure SDLC, and security device management (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).
  • Experience in addressing network attacks, phishing, spam email, encryption, authentication, logging and log analysis, and device reputation.
  • Knowledge in securing application programming interfaces (APIs) to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Experience in creating architectural reference materials.
  • Familiarity with incident response planning and execution.
  • Experience in security testing (scanning, pen testing, blue/red team activities).
  • Knowledge of common industry standards (ISO27001/2, NIST, COBIT, CIS) and regulatory standards (SOX, PCI, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience in conducting security risk assessments, business impact analysis (BIA), and business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Experience in technology rationalization, assessments, and strategy development within cybersecurity contexts.
  • Ability to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend remediation based on industry best practices.
  • Experience in creating test environments to simulate real-world security scenarios.
  • Knowledge in securing cloud containers and serverless functions.
  • Familiarity with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
  • Experience with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA).
  • Knowledge of implementing Zero Trust security frameworks.
  • Awareness of the latest cybersecurity threats and defense strategies.
  • Understanding of data security techniques and best practices for safeguarding data at rest, in transit, and in use.
  • Knowledge of IAM, access control models, authentication methods, and authorization principles.
  • Familiarity with application security, including secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of encryption algorithms, key management practices, and data protection.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to align security strategy with organizational objectives.
  • Highly collaborative, capable of effective interaction and communication with peers, management, and leadership teams of varying technical levels, and acting with urgency in response to security challenges or requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Advanced technical writing capabilities and the ability to lead and communicate effectively within an enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mentoring and leading security teams.
  • Experience in managing the budget for a security team.
  • Familiarity with programming in Python and other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging security threats.
