Academic Librarian

Madera Community College seeks a dedicated and passionate Academic Librarian to join our team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting student success by providing exceptional library services and fostering a love of learning within the campus community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging instruction sessions and technical support to students, guiding them in navigating library resources effectively.
• Developing and presenting informative workshops on various research topics, enhancing student research skills and knowledge.
• Collaborating closely with faculty members to promote awareness of available library resources and integrate them seamlessly into course curricula.
• Championing the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) by introducing them to stakeholders, advocating for their adoption, and assisting faculty in incorporating OERs into their courses.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of library policies and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient library environment.
• Managing and maintaining online collections and databases, ensuring accessibility and relevance for students and faculty.
• Participating actively in program reviews and student learning outcome assessments, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for an individual with:

• A Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
• A California Community College Credential or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience working within diverse communities and promoting inclusivity is highly valued.
• A strong understanding of collection development principles and library instruction methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
