Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Field Inspector. As a Field Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections in commercial areas to ensure compliance with codes, ordinances, and regulations related to refuse, litter, weeds, snow removal, and associated property maintenance/sanitation issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections in commercial areas to identify and address non-compliance issues
  • Educate property owners and managers on city standards and regulations
  • Investigate complaints and follow up on violations
  • Issue written warnings and formal citations as necessary
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective enforcement
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related training or experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record
