Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations to determine student requirements. Create and execute tailored Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) grounded in assessment findings.
  • Intervention and Therapy: Deliver direct therapeutic services to students experiencing speech and language challenges. Employ evidence-based methodologies to enhance communication abilities, encompassing articulation, language understanding, fluency, and social communication.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with educators, guardians, and other school personnel to foster students' holistic growth and guarantee the successful application of therapy objectives. Engage in IEP discussions and offer insights for necessary accommodations and adjustments.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep precise and current records of therapy sessions, progress documentation, and assessment outcomes. Compile reports and documentation needed for IEPs and other educational requirements.
  • Professional Development: Remain informed about the latest advancements in speech-language pathology and engage in continuous professional growth. Attend pertinent workshops, conferences, and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a school environment is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and educational staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
