We are looking for a skilled RF Engineer to become a vital part of our RF Technology team at Software Galaxy Systems, LLC. This position is centered around the design, development, and evaluation of RF and microwave systems, particularly focusing on phased array radar technologies and antenna performance assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Develop and enhance RF/microwave systems architecture, which includes antennas (both reflector and array types), frequency synthesizers, transmitters, and receivers.
Simulation and Testing:
- Execute simulations, testing, and troubleshooting of RF circuits and subsystems. Formulate detailed test plans and methodologies for RF subsystems.
Phased Array Systems:
- Design and implement multi-panel phased array systems. Conduct fundamental characterization, troubleshooting, and validation of these arrays utilizing advanced RF testing instruments.
Antenna Measurements:
- Perform antenna radiation pattern assessments in diverse environments, including near field, far field, and compact range measurement facilities.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Effectively document test outcomes using visuals, presentations, and written reports. Ensure adherence to all design specifications.
System Optimization:
- Analyze and enhance RF systems and networks to boost performance, ensuring compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), safety, manufacturability, and thermal design standards.
Team Collaboration:
- Engage in design evaluations and work alongside team members to tackle design challenges and refine solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MATLAB for programming and analytical tasks.
- Extensive experience with RF testing equipment for network and spectrum analysis, phase noise evaluation, and time-domain signal analysis.
- Strong foundation in analog and mixed-signal (particularly RF) circuitry.
Familiarity:
- Experience with high-speed interface control implementations and phased array radar technologies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (mandatory) or an associate's degree with substantial experience.
Experience:
- At least 5 years in RF/microwave design, especially with phased array radar technologies. Practical experience with RF receiver systems, antenna technologies, and signal processing is crucial.
Other:
Clearance:
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain an interim clearance.
