Fire Investigator

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a part-time Fire Investigator to join their team of forensic experts in the field of fire investigation. The main responsibilities of this position include determining the origin and cause of various types of fires, such as residential, commercial structure, vehicle, and marine fires.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $50-$60 per hour, as well as a flexible work schedule and opportunities for career growth. The company also provides support for maintaining certifications and offers a 401(k) plan with employer matching.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Fire Science or 10+ years of related experience, as well as knowledge of fire investigation procedures and experience in the field of fire and explosion investigation. The candidate must also possess a CFI-IAAI Certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gathering and analyzing photographic and physical evidence
• Conducting on-site investigations and overseeing field testing
• Preparing detailed reports documenting fire causes
• Providing expert testimony and depositions

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Fire Science or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of fire investigation procedures and protocols
• Experience in fire and explosion investigation field
• CFI-IAAI Certification required
• Strong technical knowledge of processing fire scenes
