Key Responsibilities:

• Implement age-appropriate programs and plans for the assigned group of children.

• Engage positively with children, encouraging their play and participation.

• Attend to the personal and physical needs of children.

• Assist teachers with record-keeping and classroom visuals.

• Maintain a clean, organized, child-friendly, and safe environment.

• Communicate children's daily activities to parents or guardians through written and verbal methods.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent. A Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or equivalent college coursework is required.

• Experience: Previous experience in an early childhood program is preferred.

• Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license is required when driving any vehicle for work-related purposes. Must complete mandatory training in Child Abuse Reporting, adult and infant/child CPR/first aid, universal precautions, and infection disease control, along with annual staff training requirements as mandated by the Iowa Department of Human Services.

• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, effective written and verbal communication, flexibility, teamwork, and professionalism are essential.
