Paraprofessional Houseparent Position I

The Paraprofessional Houseparent Position I is a temporary role that requires attention and supervision of students during non-instructional hours. The position is available during center-based programming weeks and requires CPR and First Aid Certification within the first three months of hire.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and comfortable homelike environment.
- Carry out evening or overnight activities as scheduled.
- Support and instruct students according to rules in the NDVS/SB handbook.
- Assist with evening meals and provide homework support as directed by staff.
- Supervise bedtime routines and monitor the facility for security purposes.
- Provide human guide assistance and communicate information to supervisors and fellow Houseparent Staff.
- Attend In-service Meetings as requested and work a minimum of one shift per Short Term Program week.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- CPR Certification must be obtained within 90 days.
- The successful applicant must pass a criminal background check.
