Job Title: General Labor II HEAVY WORK (Loading and Off Loading)
Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shift
- 1st Shift:
- Monday – Friday
- 6am- 2:30pm
- Overtime: Earlier start time + sometimes weekends
- 2nd Shift:
- Monday-Friday
- 3pm-11:30pm
- Overtime: After 8th hours of work + sometimes weekends
Pay Rate: $18.25/hour
Job Summary: As a General Laborer at BBSI Southern California, you will be responsible for moving material within a warehouse while adhering to the DC's work rules while meeting and exceeding productivity, quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet Company Productivity and Quality Standards: Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively to meet company productivity and quality standards.
- Perform Work in Accordance with Established Safety Procedures: Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain Clean Work Area: Maintain a clean work area to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Clearing Area of Empty Boxes and Trash: Clear the area of empty boxes and trash to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Palletizing of Completed Orders and Pack Outs: Palletize completed orders and pack outs to ensure efficient and effective storage and shipping.
- Placing Completed Orders onto the Conveyer: Place completed orders onto the conveyer to ensure timely and efficient shipping.
- Preparing Orders for Shipment and Making Boxes: Prepare orders for shipment and make boxes to ensure efficient and effective packaging and shipping.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs., push and or pull up to 50 lbs. and ability to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
Requirements:
- Preferred Experience: Six months of warehouse/distribution and use of RF Scanner
- Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to all levels of Management
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to work overtime as needed. Overtime may be prior to and/or after scheduled work hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Computer Software Systems: Knowledge or ability to learn computer software systems
