Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of weapons products to our end users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure the timely execution of the program during all phases of the life cycle.
  • Develop and implement management policies, controls, and operating procedures to support program planning, direction, and execution.
  • Analyze needs and requirements information to develop specific objectives for assigned program initiatives.
  • Identify program office and competency area support needed to meet assigned program requirements.
  • Direct the development of comprehensive program plans to ensure fulfillment of technical, cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Exercise delegated managerial and supervisory authority to direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of subordinates.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must be certified as a Career Field A Level 4-ADVANCED within 24 months of appointment.
Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include:

  • Applying principles of technical and business systems and associated processes and practices used to manage weapons systems acquisition in the Navy.
  • Developing and maintaining an effective acquisition management team using managerial, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Applying knowledge of principles governing life cycle acquisition management within DoD, the DoD Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System, and the Navy acquisition management process.
  • Planning for and synthesizing requirements of functional areas, including engineering, logistics, budget, configuration management, and other functional specialties into integrated strategies and processes to support the acquisition program.
