Critical Facility Technician Job Description

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Critical Facility Technician to join our team. As a Critical Facility Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of critical infrastructure systems within a data center environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
  • Serve as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and any third-party vendors.
  • Support operated data centers and maintain better than 99.999% uptime for data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
  • Possess a Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical and/or electrical OEM factory specific training or experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to type and utilize common administrative and office software.
Working Conditions:

The Critical Facility Technician will work in a fast-paced data center environment, lifting at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time. The technician will also work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.

The ideal candidate will possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
