We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Building Services Technician to join our team at the Gemological Institute of America. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our New York and New Jersey facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general office errands and maintenance tasks, including light bulb replacement and supply distribution.
  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving and signing for deliveries, packing and shipping packages, and processing mail.
  • Manage inventory and storage of daily operational supplies, including forms, stationery, and other materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors and tradesmen, including escorting them throughout the facility and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Perform minor handyman tasks, repairs, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in setting up conference rooms and common areas for events.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; five years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Experience in custodian or facilities maintenance field preferred.
  • Reliable and organized with high standards of quality control and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with coworkers and management.
  • Basic understanding of computers, including MS Office.
  • Driver's License required.
