Aquatics Director

Description:

The Aquatics Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the aquatics department at the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. This includes program development, staff hiring and supervision, training, budget control, operational management, and facility scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement aquatics programs that meet the needs of the community and align with the YMCA's mission and values.
• Supervise and train aquatic staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide safe and effective programs.
• Manage the aquatics budget and ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and compliant with YMCA policies.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the aquatic facilities, including chemical balance, equipment maintenance, and substitute staffing.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the aquatics programs and services.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the aquatics programs and services are integrated with other YMCA programs and services.
• Ensure that all aquatic staff are certified in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid and that they are trained in all aspects of safety in and around an aquatic facility.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have at least two years' experience in supervising and scheduling staff.
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must be certified in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without strain.
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended lengths of time.
• Must be able to move to various locations, including in and around the swimming pool.

Salary: $43,888 per year
