The Assistant Athletic Trainer is a key member of the Sports Medicine Department at Pomona College, responsible for providing medical care and support to student-athletes. This role requires a high level of expertise in athletic training, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Prevention and Treatment of Injuries: Develop and implement injury prevention programs, provide medical care and treatment to injured student-athletes, and collaborate with coaches and trainers to ensure a safe and healthy athletic environment.
• Medical Coverage for Contests and Practices: Provide medical coverage for all varsity sports contests and practices, including emergency response and first aid.
• Counseling and Education: Provide counseling and education to student-athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, and other health-related topics.
• Documentation and Administration: Maintain accurate and timely records of injuries, treatments, and progress notes, and administer athletic insurance claims.
• Supervision and Oversight: Supervise and oversee athletic training students and interns, providing guidance and support as needed.

• Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field is preferred.
• Certification: Certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) is required.
• CPR/AED Certification: Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• Experience: Experience working in an academic institution is preferred.

This is a temporary, full-time, exempt position. The monthly rate for this role is between $5,546-$5,875. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior role.
