Oncology Specialist

This role is a field-based position, requiring candidates to reside within one of the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Missouri.

The Oncology Specialist will build and implement territory business plans that align with overall brand objectives and business goals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of disease states, establish strong relationships with oncologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, and foster collaboration with peers and the extended team network.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building a comprehensive strategic business plan with specific, measurable objectives and action-oriented strategies in accordance with regional and national goals.
  • Presenting approved disease state and product information to customers, utilizing persuasive selling skills within the boundaries of AbbVie's Promotional Policy.
  • Leveraging sales analytics and customer intelligence to create high-impact, strategic plans that align with brand objectives.
  • Executing sales and marketing strategies within the territory, leveraging cross-functional partners and approved resources.
  • Continuously building knowledge of an evolving marketplace, territory changes, and disease state knowledge & product expertise.
  • Collaborating effectively with all territory partners and external counterparts.
  • Developing and executing a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize sales opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales expectations, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work within a highly collaborative team environment.

Additional requirements include a Bachelor's Degree, 6+ years of Oncology sales experience, and the ability to pass AbbVie's background check and additional screening as required by some institutions and health facility sales accounts.

This role requires regular business travel by air or car.
